Greville Commins
Originally studying electronics Greville formed his own start-up company in 1982 followed by an exit after 3 years and 5 years in Intel Systems Marketing. Joining STMicroelectronics in 1990, he marketed silicon and software globally, spent 5 years as US Operations Director in Silicon Valley gaining US, Europe and Asian business experience. In 2001 became ST Marketing Director sourcing IP and technology for future products.
A business mentor since 2001 he founded Varoom Ltd in 2007, to help accelerate early stage technology enterprises. Also in 2007 he became Entrepreneur in Residence in SETsquared high tech start-up incubator in Bristol, teaching enterprise and entrepreneurship in University of Bristol, the Bath University MBA and business workshops in University West of England. He has held Non-executive Director positions in Hi-tech start-up companies and is currently Non Exec Chairman in a small software start up in Bristol.
Greville has a strong technical background, a broad range of marketing and business development skills coupled with an international experience base and over 20 years as a Director in technology businesses. He has industry sector experience in computer systems, electronics, software, digital consumer, Set Top Box, DVD, TV and digital cameras working with IBM, HP, Microsoft, Hitachi, and many other major companies.
